2019 Annual Homeowners Meeting Minutes

Board Member Changes: During the March 2019 annual meeting, Christy Raines was appointed to the Vice President position vacated by Jason Moore. Other Board appointments include Bill Breler assuming the position of Member at Large vacated by Gale Poole, and current Board member Gale Poole appointed to Treasurer after Doug Jones chose not to stand for reappointment. Thank you, Doug Jones, for your fourteen years of service as a Board member.

Cinnamon Acres Covenants and By-laws Initiative: The Board’s ongoing effort to update and revise the subdivision’s covenants and by-laws was completed in late 2018. In March, homeowners received a covenant information packet and were asked to vote on revising our covenants. Approval of 75% of the homeowners (62) was needed to change the covenants and by-laws. To date, the covenant and by-law initiative has not received the required 62 votes.

The vote tally to date:

  • 42 “yes”
  • 5 “no”
  • 35 ”declined to vote” or “no response”

Our existing covenants and by-laws will remain in place since the proposed covenants and by-laws sent earlier this year did not receive the needed 75% homeowner approval. To those homeowners who responded-thank you for taking the time to participate.

Request for Email Addresses: To help streamline homeowner communication, we’d appreciate having a current email address for each homeowner. For homeowners who haven’t shared a contact email address, please provide it to Gale Poole.

This homeowner update will be mailed to each homeowner and an electronic version will also be sent to those who provided their email address. Going forward, homeowner updates and dues invoices will be sent electronically whenever possible.

[If interested, contact us to provide your email address.]

Entrance at Cornhusker Road and Cinnamon Drive: Improvements to Cinnamon Acres subdivision entrance signs are underway. All three brick monuments-the two signs along 168th Street and the main entrance on Comhusker Road and Cinnamon Drive-will receive a facelift of new stone accents and caps. Also, all the brick walls will have mortar cracks repaired.

The subdivision entrance sign at Cinnamon Acres and Comhusker Road had its short walls removed. A new double-sided “Cinnamon Acres” sign will be installed on the center median brick wall. Updates to our entrance monuments will enhance the signs and the overall appearance of the neighborhood. The new sign and masonry enhancements should be completed this fall.

Welcome New Neighbors: A warm welcome to our two newest neighbors, Matthew and Jennifer Hellbusch and Brian and Deborah Maas. We are glad you’re a part of Cinnamon Acres!
